Pian del Colombaio is a large, old Tuscan farmhouse. Abandoned and neglected for decades, it had fallen into near ruin until it was bought in 1985. The high stone building has been lovingly restored and renovated and it is now once more an imposing country house.

The ground floor of the farmhouse, once given over to stables and grain stores, has been tastefully converted into three large self-catering styled apartments, providing space, comfort and attractive fittings and furnishings.

The setting is magnificent, with access from the main highway along almost 4 miles of private road. All around are rolling fields, olive groves, and vineyards, with Tuscany’s highest mountain, the dormant volcano Monte Amiata, nearby. The house itself is situated on a small crest looking west along the River Orcia, which means particularly spectacular sunsets can be enjoyed.

Whether you want to relax by the pool amidst beautiful surroundings, or indulge a taste for sightseeing, with a comfortable, tranquil base to which you can return in the evenings, Pian del Colombaio can offer you the perfect Italian experience, a holiday to remember with pleasure long after you have returned home.
